Blog Post #11: Spring

PART ONE:
In just one week, you will have a full nine days off of school. What are you going to do with your time? Are you going on a trip? Do you have special plans? Do you have a project you are taking on? Do you have some movie or a book you are catching up on? (Remember, a minimum of five full-word sentences, please)

PART TWO: Yesterday was the Vernal Equinox. Use the Internet to research the following:
What does Vernal mean?
What does Equinox mean?
What can someone supposedly do to a hard-boiled egg on the Vernal Equinox?

  2. I have five plans for spring break. My first is to sketch up some designs for spring clothes. My second is to bake cupcakes preferably red velvet ones with whipped crème and sprinkles. My third is to attempt to redesign my room into a more springy type. My fourth is to go paintballing with my cousins. My last is to catch up on sleep. Vernal means vigorous and fresh. Equinox means equal amount of night and day. What someone can do to a hardboiled egg pm the vernal equinox is to make it an Easter egg.

    Part one:
I'll probably spend my time by doing spring cleaning, and probably be spending it in San Francisco, SHOPPING :D I wish we went to Los Angeles like we did last spring break. I loved Los Angeles when we went to like almost all the beaches there, it was real fun. I'll probably buy movies and books also to waste time. I am so excited for spring break.

    Part two:
    -Vernal means pertaining to spring.
-Equinox means either of two times of the year when the sun crosses the plane of the earth's equator and day and night are of equal length.

During spring break, I’m not really going far or anywhere. But my family and I are planning to go to Great America! :D Since some teachers are inconsiderate, I’m probably going to be doing my biology project. I want to go over to Japan Town and take “pika pika” pictures with my church friends. I’m also probably going to be sleeping over my friends’ house. But I’m most def. watching The Last Song with one of my best friends.

Vernal means young, vigorous, and fresh. Equinox means either of two times of the year when the sun crosses the plane of the earth’s equator and day and night are of equal length. You can paint the eggs or balance them on their ends.

What I am going to do over the break is go to Disney Land. Whoo! It’s going to be so much fun. Alex gets to go with us on the trip too. Four day of dream like days for everyone. I haven’t been to Disney Land for five years. I can’t wait to go there. We’re going to go on all of the rides, get goofy hats and everything. It’s going to be so much fun. I just can’t wait.

Vernal means fresh or new like, pretty much youthful. Equinox is a car, no I’m just kidding. Equinox is two points on the celestial sphere at which the ecliptic intersects the celestial equator. What people do with a hard-boiled egg is paint them, or balance them on their ends.

Over spring break I will probably be sleeping in on most of the days, go to Santa Clara and go to Japan Town with my friends. Hopefully the trip to Japan Town does not backfire. I do not think I have any projects I have to work on, although some of my teachers mentioned something about some work we will be receiving. I would like to catch up on some of the Korean dramas I have not seen and the novel Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. It has been a while since I've watched anything due to projects, studying and homework.

Vernal means pertaining to spring and equinox means equal right. The hard-boiled egg can supposedly stand on it.

  7. It used to be ten days! I knew the breaks were getting shorter! For Spring Break I plan to sleep. Oh yeah and get fat! Whoa... I might even go to Santa Cruz with some friends over the break.

Vernal means youthful or in spring.
Equinox is when either of the two annual crossings of the equator by the Sun in each direction.
Supposedly, you can stand an egg on its side.

  8. During spring break, my brother will be having his birthday party (even though his birthday is on the 25th… but then his friends want it to be on the 29th, so whatever floats their boats…) so people can sleep over if they want to. Also, depending on if my mom is in a good mood today, maybe I can get Pokémon Heart Gold after waiting for a little bit too long. By the way, yes, watching all of your friends talk about the newest Pokémon game for a week when you’re supposed to have gotten it the day it comes out is a wee bit too long for me. Most likely I’ll be glued to my DS until I catch them all. However, the freshman project’s first part might take some of my Pokémon time away from me because I have to find sources for the project I’m doing (Mythology connections). Outside of Pokémon, my brother’s birthday party, and the project, though, I don’t think I’ll be doing anything special.

Vernal means that whatever it’s describing is occurring in the spring. Equinox means that the Earth’s axis is inclined neither away nor towards the sun. Apparently, during a vernal or autumnal equinox, you can balance an egg on its end perfectly. There are theories that the equinox causes the egg to change its center of gravity so that it will balance, but it can actually be tried and succeeded on any other day of the year… just that everyone just bothers to try during an equinox.

  10. PART ONE:
During spring break I’m going to hang out with my friends and do fun stuff like go to the beach go to the mall, meet new people, go to the city stay out late go to parties and stuff, just chill around and do what we want stay out of most trouble because as you know we are just teens not much we can do but get into trouble, but we manage to stay out of it. All I know is spring break is going to be wild and fun but not to wild.

    PART TWO:
1.Vernal is of occurring spring or suggestive of youth or, vigorous and fresh
2.Times of the year when the sun crosses the plane of the earth's equator and day and night are of equal length or two celestial points at which the celestial equator intersects the ecliptic.

    Part one:
When Spring break starts next week, I'm mostly going to be sleeping, going online, playing video games, stuff I normally do. I'm also going to plan a sleepover for me and some friends so we can all hang out for once! The only projects I'm working on are reserch projects for Dance about Bollywood (I think I spelled that right) and a pursuasive essay for English. But those are due this week, not next.

    Part Two:
Vernal means of, relating to, or occuring in the spring. It can also mean fresh or new, like the spring, or youthful.
Equinox is either of the two times every year when the sun is across the equator and day and night are equal.
There are many different traditions for the egg at the Vernal Equinox. One is to stand it on its tip to ensure good luck for the rest of the year (China), others would roll the egg in soil to fructify the fields in the name of the Spring Goddess, Eostre (Mediterranean). Most people today paint the eggs and hide them in a field for children to find as a game.

  13. Part one:
During my spring break, I’m not for sure what my plans are for this year’s spring break. I don’t plan on going anywhere or taking a trip anywhere, but I plan to spend my time with friends. But if I do have anything mandatory to do, if anything it would probably be research for my freshmen project. I plan to get ready, or train to start playing for the south city summer basketball team. I also plan, hopefully plan to spend some time with my new family and friends, Loco Bloco. But I know that for sure that I don’t want my spring break to be wasted doing nothing, but at least doing something with my friends. We want to at least go to great America this spring break.
    Part two:
Vernal means another word for spring. Equinox means when the sum crosses earths equator, and males daytime equal to night time. On the vernal equinox you are supposedly able to balance an egg on its end.

During Spring break, I might go camping with some friends. It depends if they are still going or not. I hope they do go. So far that is my only road trip. The other thing that I might do is to help my friend at Elco with moving his stuff to a new house that he and his mom just bought. He is moving from Chestnut to Winston Manor. The other thing and perhaps the most important thing that I will have to do are to work on my Senior Project over the Spring break. I need to find a mentor to complete my fifteen hours in able to finish the Senior Project. That is so far the only thing that I have to do in able to finish the Senior Project. So I guess I might be a little busy during the Spring break.
Yesterday was Vernal Equinox. Vernal Equinox is a time when the sun crosses the plane of the Earth’s equator, making night and day of approximately equal length all over the Earth. It mostly occurs on March 21st and September 22nd. The term Vernal means appearing or occurring in Spring. The term Equinox can be used in a broader sense, meaning the date when such a passage happens. I’m not sure what to do with a hard-boiled egg on the Vernal Equinox, but I guess what we should do is to decorate the egg, since the day is almost near the Easter Sunday. That is my opinion.

  19. PAART ONE: I am probably going to hang out with friends or family. I might take a trip up to Sacramento for a few days. No I don't think I have any special plans. No I do not have any project that I am taking on. Yes actually, I am going to finish watching Where The Wild Things Are.

PART TWO: Vernal means appearing or occuring in spring. Equinox means two times of the year when the sun crosses the plane of the earth's equator and day and night are of equal length. You can supposedly stand an egg your hands.

During the first weekend of spring break, I’m going to spend the night at Valejo and then head to Reno with my crazy cousins. We decided this family trip, because the last time we went to Lake Tahoe we had so much fun and the kids had a blast throwing snowballs and building a snow sled through the driveway that we wanted to go see the snow one more time before it melts. I’m leaving this Friday night and sleeping over at my aunt’s house. The next weekend is my birthday and the weekend after that is my best friend’s birthday dinner. I also have the freshman research project to work on during spring break. So, I have a lot of things to do. I also want to buy a ukulele and shoes for myself when it’s my birthday. I want to finish The Last Song too, but I don’t think I’ll be able to finish the book anytime soon.
Vernal means relating to spring, or new like spring. Equinox means the date when the sun and Earth are in perfect alignment with one another. Supposedly, you can balance an egg on its end during a vernal equinox.

  21. Well I love spring but I don’t think that I am going anywhere. Something I know for sure I will be doing is sleeping in every day which will be nice for a change. Although I cannot sleep in the whole day because I have three projects that I need to keep up with. The first one is a biography that I have to write and create a book with 10 chapters. The second project is the freshmen project where you have to do a big research paper on a topic of my choosing. The third which is the smallest is reading a book called THE HOUSE ON MANGO STREET and I have to take notes on it to help us for the test on the book at the end of the semester. As you can see my hands are full for spring break I just hope I can find time to relax. Well I did not know what Vernal Equinox until I looked it up on the internet. First Vernal means suggestive of youth; vigorous and fresh, or characteristic of or occurring on spring. Equinox means either of two times of the year when the sun crosses the plane of the earth’s equator and day and night are equal length. Well what supposedly you are supose to d on Vernal Equinox is balance an egg on its end.

  22. For Spring Break, i went to Lake Tahoe to go snowboarding with my cousin. The snow was great and was powedery and wasnt too hard. The weather was beautiful and the sun was out most of the time and very little wind. Considering that ive only gone snowboarding appromimately 3 or 4 times, i thought i did very well. I was able to go on the blue runs which i think are considered intermediate.

The word vernal means young; fresh; pertaining to spring
The word equinox means either of two times of the year when the sun crosses the plane of the earth's equator and day and night are of equal length
It can balance the egg on its point.
