Keyboarding Blog Post #13

The U.S. Postal Service has honored many individuals from presidents
to singers to cartoon characters, by placing their portraits on postage
stamps. Whom would you nominate to honor with a postage stamp?
Using a minimum of five complete sentences, be sure to explain whom you would choose and
explain why that person should be honored with a postage stamp.
Support your ideas with examples and details.

I would probably nominate my best friend, Devin. I would nominate him because he has been there for me since day 1 even though I never really supported his ideals he was still by my side. He is also someone you can count on whenever you are in a pinch and save you as much as you can. He has also put a lot of time and effort into the things he does.

  2. the person i would chose as a postage stamp would be michael jordan. i chose him because he is like a king in the basketball world. he is legend to all basketball fans. using michael jordan would be a great honor to all basketball fans, and to michael jordan himself. this is basically the symbol for basketball itself. he is a legend. i would use the stamp.

  5. I think Walt Disney should be a postage stamp. For today he has been making everyones dreams come true. He has created a place called Disney World. For him there was alot of thing coming for him. He should be recognized all over the world. From one stamp he can be passed through half of the world, or just across the street.

I would nominate Michelle Obama to be on a postage stamp. One reason why is because she is the first African-American First Lady of the United States. Second, she already helped the U.S by making changes. For example, she encouraged people to stop obesity by leading and making healthy choices. Third, she is loved by basically everyone. She’s thoughtful and she really does care about the people of this country. Fourth, she won many awards from those awards shows, like the Kid’s Choice Awards. Lastly, she is a loving mother. She knows how to balance her family and her duties.

  7. If I had to nominate one person or cartoon character to become immortalized on a postage stamp, I would choose Donald Duck. One reason I would choose him is because he isn’t given enough credit. Sure, he’s known as the mean, short-tempered duck that flips out on everyone, but when he’s not being angry, he’s actually a very good-willed character. He’s one of Mickey Mouse’s best friends and most trusted companions, so why not at least credit him with a stamp? Another reason is because he’s actually a very good addition to the Disney characters family. For example, in the Kingdom Hearts series (a game that tosses a bunch of Disney characters into an adventure full of battles and mysteries), Donald is actually one of the characters that follows the main character, Sora, around (the other character is Goofy). He runs around healing Sora when he’s hurt and often gives humorous but helpful advice for the adventure. All in all, he may be a famous Disney character next to Mickey and Minnie Mouse, but he isn’t given enough gratitude for all he’s done. At least give him the fame he deserves.

  8. I would want to nominate the old man in the movie UP. The man from UP deserves to be honored because even though he could have left the little boy outside of his house, he instead let him in. Also, the part with the dog and the flamingo, he didn’t leave them behind. He instead fought against the bad guy and got the flamingo back. Also, at the end he taught us all that you shouldn’t let one thing let you down.

If I were to nominate a person to be honor with a postage stamp, I would nominate myself. I would nominate myself because everyone deserves to be part of something other than just a famous movie actor, singer, or a cartoon character. What I meant by that is to also have my picture on a magazine that a majority people reads. Like the greatest magazines every. The other reason why I want my picture on the post stamp because, so that the person who you sent the letter to knows who it is from. A self portait on the stamp will give the reader a clue of who's the letter from.

I would pick SpongeBob to be honored with a postage stamp. He is funny and can make people have a good time. Almost everyone knows him, likes him or thinks he's cool. I do like him and think he's interesting. SpongeBob Square Pants should be the one that appears in them stamps.

  11. Well someone I think would look cool on a postage stamp would be SpongeBob Square Pants because he is funny and a lot of people love him young and old. Sponge bob has been around for like 10 or more years and is a hit show. I don’t watch Sponge bob that much anymore but did when I was younger and loved it and still do. I also think that it would bring some style to mail instead of those old people that we most of the time have on a postage stamp. If they would put him on a postage stamp I think that people would buy stamps not just because they need them because they want them because they look so cool. Wouldn’t you buy postage stamps if it have a cool looking under sea sponge that talked on it, it would be just completely amazing don’t you think so?

I would choose Maya Angelou, because she is a strong African American who needs to be acknowledged for the things that she went through when she was a child. She is a smart, brave women who has accomplished so many things and written hundreds of novels and poets. She should be honored for her work. She is a very close freind of Oprah and they are alike in a lot of ways.

  13. If I was able to immortalize someone on a U.S. postage stamp, I would have a lot of choices to pick from. But out of all of the influences, it would either have to be either Obama, or Dr. Sues. But because the choice is mine, I would go with Dr. Sues. I would pick him over Obama because the books that he has created have interest a lot of people as much as being classic books in anyones book case. But if I had two people to pick it would have to be Obama because he’s done so much for our country and he is also, in a way, is the face of change.

    Id honor my mom.
Maybe she shouldn't be honored to everyone else because who is she to them but to ME- she's a lot. She's done a lot for me and id put her on a stamp! for example her dedication as a mother to me. No matter what she is OBLIGATED TO DO- she'll put it aside in a heart beat if i needed her.

  18. If I could nominate any president, singer, cartoon, or anyone to be nominated to be on a stamp I would have to say that I personally would nominate someone I think deserves it or I like what they do or stand for so I would nominate…Lady Gaga, mainly because her involvement with the GLBT and her music means something to some people and I like it a lot like a lot a lot it may be slightly on the adult side or some of the songs but she`s amazing so she should be put on a stamp also cause of her style and how she’s not afraid to be herself so she should make a cool stamp.

  19. If I was to choose someone to be placed on the postage stamp it would be Jesus. Why, because I dont think I have ever seen a Jesus postage stamp and i would think it would be really cool to see Jesus on your mail! Jesus is our savor and he needs to be spend around showing people to show some love. He sacrificed himself for us and we can at least put him on a postage stamp to let him know that we sent him to you with some mail. Not everyone is Catholic or Christian but Jesus loves us and died for us, he is our savor so he needs to be shared all over.

  20. i would nominate Adam Sandler to be on a postage stamp, because he has made good and funny movies throughout his carreer, he is a good singer and a good actor, and every movie that he is in whether he has the main role, supporting role, and even if he is a cameo, made me laugh. Those are the reasons why i would like to nominate Adam Sandler to be put on a Postage Stamp.

I would probably nominate Shakespeare to be put on a postage stamp because his works are so amazing and lots of people have never really heard of him before, which is kind of sad in my opinion. If he were on a stamp then people would know him more and want to find out more about him. He contributed so much to literature during his lifetime and I think that’s a good reason to put him on a stamp.

  22. If I was to nominate to honor someone with a postage stamp, I would choose Obama. I would pick him because he was the first black president. And because he made history. Also he derserves to be on it with all the things he did. So thats why i would nominate him on a postage stamp.
