  2. When a groundhog sees his showdow it will mean that winter will last for a few more weeks. If he doesn't see his shadow it means that spring will come early this year. The official groundhog is in Punxatawny (Sorry, I can't spell very well), Pensyllviania. His name is Punxatawny Phill. To be honest, I don't think he'll see his shadow. It's been cloudy and dark mostly for awhile.

  15. On Groundhog’s Day, if the groundhog sees its shadow, then it will run back into its burrow. That means that winter will continue for the next six weeks. However, if it does not see its shadow, then it will run outside to all of his/her little groundhog friends to celebrate the first day of spring time. Officially, it… well, it lives in a hole. After all, it’s a groundhog. However, I guess it can live anywhere in the world, since the holiday seemed to originate from European weather lore but was also involved back then in America, too. The groundhog’s name (at least, in America and other applying countries) is Punxsutawney Phil, who is from the referenced city of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Personally, I’d like to think that the groundhog will not see its shadow, because it would mean spring would still be pretty brand new when it’s my birthday (February 4). However, with my luck, Phil will probably see his shadow, and the cold, harsh winter will continue through my birthday. I’d also kind of like Phil to see his shadow because it would be sad to not see your own silhouette for the next six weeks, even if all he’ll do about it is run away.

If the groundhog does see his shadows, then the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow and the Winter season will continue for six more weeks. If the groundhog does not see his shadows, then the groundhog will leave the burrow and the winter season will soon be over and a new season, which is Spring will begin. The official groundhog lives in a family farm in the valley of Gobbler’s Knob, which is the site the tallest mountain in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. I think the groundhog’s name is Isia. I am guessing that it depends on how the weather will be like tomorrow. If it is cloudy and/or raining, then Winter season will be over. If the weather is Sunny, then Winter Season will continue for six more weeks.

  23. Well if a ground hog sees his shadow it means that there are still six more weeks left of winter. Now if the ground hog dose not see his shadow that means that spring is only six weeks away. Well the ground hog as I believe officially can live as far out north as Alaska, with their habit extending southeast to Alabama. Well the ground hog is known to have a few different names like woodchuck and whistle-pig. I don’t really know weather the groundhog will look at himself or herself or not but what ever the groundhog chooses is all right with me.
